DONALD WONG TSZ HO
Currently studying at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Donald is a second-year Contemporary Dance major. His skills acquired through learning gymnastics, piano and violin since a young age, such as flexibility, strength and musicality, greatly benefits him as a dancer. In particular, his somersaulting skills have also become an advantage for him.
Donald has gained a large showing experience from being a dancer at the Hong Kong Disneyland. Works he had performed in the last two years at Disney includes “Horror of Amazon”, “Gifts of friendship”, and “Flight of Fantasy Parade”. This experience of dancing professionally has made him even more determined and passionate for dance.
In recent years, he has performed various works both in and outside of the Academy. Some of these works include “One foot lifted” by Jaime Redfern, “Tetris on Waterfront” by Ronny Wong and “12 Stories” by John Utans.
GRACE LIM JIN
Born in Singapore, Grace Lim first began her dance training in Chinese Dance and Ballet at the age of 10, and took up Contemporary Dance later on in College. A passionate and hardworking individual, Grace was a PULSE Dance Scholar at the Frontier Danceland and was also the former dance captain of her college’s dance team. Additionally, she has completed all her Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet examinations up till Advanced 1 with Distinction.
Determined to pursue her dreams of becoming a professional dancer, Grace is currently enrolled in The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts as a Contemporary Dance Major. She has since performed in various site specific works and in studio performances at the academy such as, “12 Stories” by John Utans, “Can you hear, when I say” by Li Yongjing as well as other student choreographed works.
Grace aspires to be a thoughtful and creative artiste and hopes to contribute back to the Singapore and global arts scene in the future.
SIMPSON YAU SIN HANG
Simpson is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honors) Degree in Dance at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), with a major in Contemporary Dance.
Before studying in HKAPA, he started dancing at the age of six with Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Chinese Dance. He was awarded the high commendation award at The 50th Schools Dance Festival – Chinese Dance – Secondary School Section, and the 1st runner-up award in The 42nd Open Dance Contest – Chinese Dance – Open Section Group both in 2014.
Additionally, Simpson has also received many scholarships provided by different organisations throughout the years. These include the 612 mini dancer (primary school program), teens of colors (secondary school program), Wu Dao Qing Nian 2015 & 2017 (outdoor performance program) from CCDC, the Gifted Young Dance Program (GYDP) bursaries from HKAPA and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarship scheme 2016/17 from Hong Kong Jockey Club.
Recently, he has danced with Victor Ma, Justyne Li and Ivy Tsui in the piece "World according to dance" choreographed by Dick Wong in 2015. He also performed in “Fission” by Helen Leung which was part of E-side Dance Company’s production, Imagination Boom, in 2016.
